Because girls want to hear their boyfriend say "No baby, you look gorgeous, beautiful, pretty, etc." Girls can't hear enough of that stuff. I love hearing I'm gorgeous. That's the best word in the world. If you guys say stuff like that whenever you see her, she'll stop asking if she looks fat.

As a woman, I can attest that not ALL women ask this, as I do not. Personally, I think that this question is a fishing tactic for a compliment (various reasons for this - low self-esteem, etc). The fact that EVERY girlfriend you've ever had asks this points to another reason - you do not pay enough attention, and offer the random compliment here and there. She is begging you to look at her! Try changing your ways a bit, and you might not have to keep finding a new girl!

By the way, I'm not slamming you - this question annoys me to when other girls ask this.

There are some things that we wear that we feel very sexy in for whatever reason. Other times we wear something and just don't feel right, so we want to know if it is in our head or if it really does look bad.

And either way you are screwed cause there is no right answer. If you say "NO" then we wonder if you are just lying so we don't get upset, if you say "YES", then you're in a heap of Shiit!

The reason is we don't want to look like a fat ugly chick who has a good looking guy . The guy is supposed to look like a sleez ball not the girl. Were supposed to look neat and pretty for a good impression. Besides why should you care. Just answer honestly even though we still might kill you if y U say we are.

There's no way. My husband pulled me aside after a few dates and said that he thinks I'm beautiful. He said that nothing could change that and although I may think I'm fat, there's no use in asking him for his opinion because his opinion will never change.

Personally I think it's high time that women took charge and learned to be happy with how they look.

This question is something that is in us. Most girls are born to ask this question. Most moms don't tell their daughters, "If you ever go out with a boy or if your just talking 2 them, ask him if he thinks you look fat." OUR MOMS DON'T DO THAT! If you answer correctly then you won't get slapped! (JKLOL!)
QUICK HINT:
If a girl ever asks you if she looks fat in a shirt, sometimes it matters on the girl on whether or not she wants an honest answer. So bottem line is if a girl asks you if she's fat, answer truthfully, but repectfully!

I never asked a guy if I looked fat in anything, but I have asked a guy once if my pants looked right on me, because I wanted to know if he thought I looked nice.

We want u to tell us were pretty maybe if u tell us we look good we wont ask that stupid rethorical question and wont have to worry about us asking. You self centered prick. Why dont u just ask ur girlfriend probably she will tell you without you probably rolling your eyes all the way back to your head and listen to her.

Women aren't comfortable in their own skin --- ever. And why should we be? The "ideal" women who grace magazine covers aren't even real. Even models don't measure up to the standard and must be computer altered in order to be truly beautiful. No wonder even the most beautiful women in the world are insecure about their looks and their bodies.
