Just follow that tutorial and after you reached the stage when you finished copying the two retinas select your background layer and press CTRL+SHIFT+U to make it black and white (desaturate it)

cs2 has a color-replacement tool that is pretty usefull for changing eye color but there's lots of ways to do it.

i usually just create a new layer on top and color it in whatever color I want to blend with. You don't have to be too carefull with it...feel free to gob it up with full brush opacity because you'll blend in the next step. Then set the opacity of the layer somewhere around 70~75% and change the blending mode to soft light. You can also use the gaussian blur filter on that layer to adjust the blending of the colors. (you're gonna want a very small number with the gaussian blur...3~5)

Once you're happy with the eye color B&W is a simple task. Just flatten out your layers so you have 1 layer. Then duplicate that layer and desaturate it. The whole image will be b&w but the full color layer is underneath....just go to work with the eraser tool on the top layer and the color underneath will show through.

there's lots of beginner tutorials out there as well.

Photoshop is cool. attempt GIMP or Gimpshop. I used them. Gimpshop is the perfect photoshop clone in my opinion. seem on the Wikipedia article to acquire it on the expert web site.

best way to do it is to desaturate your picture then use the history brush and go over your eyes and where ever u want the color to stay.

i THINK the shortcut to desaturate is ctrl-shift-u but not sure.
