My new one year old cocker spaniel has "cherry eye" in his right eye. So far I've been told that surgery is the only way to correct it. Either cut it and stitch it, which could lead to dry eye, or push it back in and stitch. Anyone have any experience with this?

Yes I have. There are two diffrent surgeries one is to cutt if off, the least expensive, 100.00, but can cause like you said dry eye and the push it back in and stitch which is a coupld thousand last I heard. You have them both. Look around on web sites because I did come across one that gave directions on how to rub it back in place your self. It didnt work on the cockey begal we had but she had it for awhile before we got her also.

Cherry Eye is an inherited problem and if your vet thinks this is the way to treat it then he would be the one to know since he has seen the dog. I would neuter the dog at the same time if possible.
