soda in general is an accomplice in weight gain. the combo of sugar, carbonation and various chemicals actually make you hungrier....have you ever noticed that after having soda with a meal you feel parched shortly afterward? Its hard to do, but replace soda with water! you'll see a loss of a pound or two pretty quick

If you drink a lot of Diet Coke, then yes, you will gain weight. Don't think that drinking 30 bottles of Diet Coke every day will make you loose weight, it'll actually make you gain too much weight. Diet Coke still has caffeine in it.

Although, Diet Coke is not a healthy food to consume, tooth decay, artificail ingredients..ect, it does not 'make' you gain weight. What studies have shown is, that, people who start drinking diet coke start consuming more calories in other areas. Kinda like a robbing Peter to pay Paul thing...I had a diet coke instead of a regular coke, so with the calories I saved I can eat a bag of chips...get it? Also artificail sweetners cause a spike in your apetite.

Diet coke might not have sugar but it does have caffeine, which can make you retain fluid. You should limit pop to only one or two a day and drink water.
