Her name is allison and she is absolutly beautiful. I am not so good looknig myself, and I am wondering if that will affect anything. My buddy has told her everything about me and I know everything about her. I am also a shy person! Can it work?

Of course it can! My gosh, go for it! Do the double date thing on the first date.
It doesn't matter how good looking either one of you are, attraction comes in all shapes, sizes and looks!
I used to go out with the ultra hot pretty boys and had to kick them to the curb every time! Now I'm married to my dream man and he was not one of those hot pretty boys.
If it ends up not working out, that's ok. All our relationships lead us to the one that end's up being our lifetime partner.

Give it a shot and enjoy being with her, the absolute worst thing that could happen is you spend a few pleasant hours with a very attractive woman, how bad could that be! And...you just might hit it off, and if so, major bonus, you've found love :-)
