Four hours is a long time to sit and pet a dog. I think if you will quit petting him he will find something more energetic to do.

Ah, what a spoiled doggie...he has a good life if he gets petted 4 hours straight. I would not move if somebody would pet me for 4 hours straight.....lol

Theres nothing wrong with petting him for a long time, hes prolly just very content and happy. Just make sure his breathing is normal and that he eats his food.

my dog had an ear ache, and i scratched him whenever he made a move, and petted him for a good couple of hours. he fell asleep. hehe good times sorta

Your dog probably seriously likes you. Just get up and walk away. If he still won't eat, it could be a medical condition and he'll have to see the vet.

Stop petting him and he will go do something else. You are just spoiling him by petting him for that long. and if he doesnt mmove than take him to the vet because ther'es probably something wrong with him
