Yes, very good. Been using it for years. I was told about it when my computer got a virus that was wreaking havoc but neither Norton nor McAfee recognised it as a virus. Yes, I wasted a lot of money buying first one and then the other, thinking surely one of them would give me back the use of my computer. AVG found it immediately, quarantined it and put everything right. Never had any more virus problems.

Yes I have it and it's pretty good. If I were you, I would get a more powerful Antivirus software like Norton or McAfree and use AVG as a backup (just to be safe!)

Also, for an extra layer of protection against spyware, I would get a free program called "spyware blaster" (download.com). Unlike most other spyware programs, this one prevents spyware from entering your computer in the first place. If you do get spyware, I would use "Spybot Search and Destroy" (free; download.com) and Super Antispyware" (free; download.com)

If you want a clean computer that will last a long time, I suggest you get all of above. It never hurts to have extra protection! Just my 2 cents...

I have "AVG" and using it right now for viral protection. It is free to use. It is also good. You should us a spyware protection at he same time. I have "Spyware Terminator" free also as an extra protection. I been using these for four months with not one problem. You can not use any of these if you have a security package like "Norton Security Package". It tell you in Norton Instructions to not use any other security with Norton. I used to have "Norton" but I find the ones I have as good and free. You need to check for updates yourself, it is easy though when you click & open AVG just click check for updates it does the rest itself.

there are a number of loose anti-virus downloads obtainable AVG being between the greater extensive-unfold. It and a variety of of alternative others are no longer as solid as Norton/McFee yet are actual solid adequate to maintain your computer risk-free. Norton is surely extensive-unfold for slowing your computer down,AVG etc does'nt use as lots so computer no longer effected as lots. i take advantage of AVG myself and characteristic had no problems with viruses,so I haven't any ought to alter. yet i'm completely conscious there are greater useful loose anti-virus downloads accessible, one is AVS from AOL it extremely is loose and boasts ninety 9% virus detection. human beings use Norton as oftentimes it extremely is put in on the computer,or salemen sell it to you insisting it extremely is substantial. i offered a computer 12mnths in the past and grow to be offered Norton £fifty 9.ninety 9, once I have been given abode i got here upon it grow to be already put in on the computer and grow to be loose for 1yr. I even have in basic terms offered a sparkling computer which back had Norton on it,i uninstalled it and positioned AVG on quite. each and every thing is all the way down to private opinion yet i actual think of a loose Anti-virus which ever one human beings choose is greater useful than procuring one that does the comparable ingredient.

You mean anti-virus software. AVG is good and it (v7.5) can be downloaded for free from the link below.

Remember you must have a clean installation to start with and ensure you update it regularly.

Yes. Very good. I don't understand why AVG doesn't put a little advert on the window when daily updates come through, or when doing a scan. They could make £$£$ millions in advertising revenue per year. Nothing too obtrusive.. but its got to be worth it for them, especially as they provide a great antivirus product.
