i know i just asked this but i got three different answers. is there anywhere i can go to figure this out?

There is no literal translation for 'Blood is thicker than water' in Irish. It wouldn't have the same meaning as it does in English if it was literally translated. A similar saying in Irish is 'Is fearr beagán den ghaol ná móran den charthanas. This literally translates to 'A little bit of relationship is better than a lot of friendliness' which has the same meaning as blood is thicker than water.
