I am taking my GF to cali, she is from michigan and just moved here a few months ago, she has never seen the ocean or been to a beach, and I want to take her to a nice one when we stay in anaheim in late april.
I saw a couple like sunset, seal, long beach, etc, but what is the nicest, least ghetto one to go to? Do any of them have a cool pier or anything, like the santa monica one?
Any other suggestions of things to do in Cali?

Anaheim is always synonymous with Disneyland. If you really want good beach around the LA County, why dont you try the breathtaking view of Malibu.
San Diego has also the best beaches. The Coronado bridge is one of the tallest in the world. You will see the spectacular view of the beaches there. Did you know that the bridge won awards due to its structure? Hotel Coronado is one of the best hotels not only in the USA but also in the world. It is definitely expensive but you can see this nice place without checking in.

Well since you're so close in Anaheim, I would definitely go with Huntington beach (about 20 miles away), there is a board walk, a pier, the international surfing museum, I think you can do beach camp fires there, places to shop....anything you could want in a beach...

Hunington Beach is pretty nice and has a pier you can go to and it's one of the closest beach communties to Anaheim. The nicest beaches in Orange County are from Hunington Beach southward. Try Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. Both places have really nice, scenic beaches, especially Laguna Beach. Corona Del Mar is also a nice beach in the area as is Crystal Cove.
