Its not just about calories, ita about fat and saturated fat too. Remember to choose foods that will allow you to eat 3 meals a day and fill you up. Bunk up your 5 a day by snacking on fruit durring meal times, and eat those veggies on your dinner plate. Limit bread, pasta etc and choose wholemeal/wholegrain when consumming these.
Dont fall for the I'll just have a choclate bar, a packet of crisps and a takeout today. That wont fill you. Remember 3 meals and fruit inbetween.

Yes :)
You'll find out that it's basically impossible to eat junk food when you control calories ;)
If you eat 6 small meals a day it will be even harder... like if you eat 300 calories per meal you can have 1 oz nachos (279) and a little bit of salsa

No you still need to maintain healthing choices
Okay....3,500 calories to burn one pound of fat
You keep a journal of your food intake..I think its highly important for you to see on paper the numbers of what you are taking in.
You buy a calorie counting watch..You take your total intake calories +3,500 add them together and THAT is what you need to burn everyday..to burn one pound.
If you start seeing the numbers I think it will help see that alot of what you might eat..may be uneccesary. You have to remember that your stomach and your intake of food at one meal sitting should be the size of your fist. It doesn't take much food to maintain your health. You can have 5 to 6 servings of healthy food the size of your fits over three regular huge meals. Your body is like a conveyer belt. You need a little at a time to keep everything moving. Good Luck

No..you need to follow the calorie conrolled diet but still get a complete nutrition out of what you eat. Screw fast food and follow the food pyramid. Get all your vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbs, and whatnot. Stay away from the grease and oil if possible.

If you're restricting calories, you have to be much more picky about WHAT you eat, because its that much more difficult to get sufficient vitamins, minerals and other critical nutrients in a smaller daily intake
