There were similar programs involving "promise rings" when I was growing up. I never tried it, because I knew I wasn't getting married anytime soon (I was a very independent-minded girl) and I didn't want to lie to God. I was branded the whore of my church youth group because of it, even though I was still a virgin, more of one than many of the girls who did swear they would be chaste until marriage. They lied to God and everyone else without batting an eyelash--I couldn't get that. I also became very "popular" with boys in my youth group. I figured out why quickly and didn't go out with any of them.
Did you know they have a MySpace page? It's ugly, too.
