Mange is normally the case for fur loss,my old dog had this,he would chew and nibble at his fur all the while and its very irrating for the dog. There's different types of mange,my dog had sarcoptic mange and it was hard to get rid of it,he would get recurring bouts of it every 3 months or so.Take your dog to the vet, where they will be able to give a diagnosis and start treatment.Good luck.

If your dog has ticks or fleas they make him itchy and he will scratch and bite at his skin until the hair is worn off. If he has these parasites then you need to give him a good defleaing bath then treat him two days later with Frontline. If he doesn't have ticks or fleas then he probably has mange which is something your vet really should diagnose.

Allergies (to fleas or other things), mange, ringworm and skin infections among other things can cause that sort of problem. Get him checked by a vet and find out what he has so you can treat him appropriately.

Skin conditions can spread quickly and some can be contagious to other pets or even people. It would be best to get your dog's problem under control soon.

Could be mange or like my dog he could have a flea allergy. Every year my dog gets it. I have to get some shampoo from the vet and some cream occaisionally he has to has tablets. It soon clears up though and his hair soon grows back.

If your dog is losing hair, biting and getting bald patches on his hind legs, I would strongly recommend a vet visit to diagnose and treat this condition. Good Luck.

Maybe flea dirt, allergies, a skin disease, cheap pet food with a lot of fillers. Take your dog to the vet and get checked out.

sounds like mange. I've came across this with on of my dogs twice in the past 9 months. check your feed store. mine had dip for it and the medicated shampoo .bath with shampoo, then cover the dog with dip. leave the dip on. i used this the 2CD time b/c the vet. uses the same and it is allot cheaper. :)
