I want to believe that Jesus is whatever He wants me to believe He is but He clearly said He was the Son of God. He said that no man knows when He will come again, not even Him only God the Father. If He WAS the Father then why would He say that? "Because He was still on earth" you might answer.

But He said this AFTER His resurection - (Rev 3:21) states, "To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. " After His resurection He is still calling Him His Father.

I worship Him as God, I believe they are the same substance but different entities. And I believe the Holy Spirit is also a part of them. I'm quite familiar with the verses that suggest He is the Father so you don't have to quote them. It is a little confusing but how is that evil or going against the bible if I believe He is the SON of God?

Doug - the rest of that scripture says I and the Father are one as you and I are one. And I'm not Jesus.

Dusty Scribe - I am appalled by your answer. I am a Christian searching for the truth. Jesus never taught that He was His Father. So why do you say I don't follow the teachings of Jesus? That was just uncalled for of you to compare me to someone in a false religion who doesn't believe that Jesus is God's Son or the same substance as God.

Meg Michaels - Maybe that's the problem. I thought that's what the doctrine of the trinity was saying, that the Son is the Father.

Candis_h - I've read that as I said, but if you look ahead at John 11:32 - 36 the Jews go to stone Jesus for claiming to be God and He says to them in vs 36 why do you say I blasphemy because I said I am the SON of God?

Did any of you ever read where it says that no man has ever seen God at any time but then it says that Moses spoke with God face to face? Did it ever occur to you that the God that no man has ever seen is the Father and the God of the old testament was .............. Jesus?

Two facts are indisputable
1God the father has authority over the Son
2 The Son is supreme over ever thing except the father

They are misinformed. If the trinity is a Christian teaching, why is there no Bible record of Jesus teaching it to his disciples? He taught them a lot of things, including love, the resurrection, the true condition of the dead, and the kingdom of God. If the trinity is a true Christian teaching, why did Jesus not mention it to his followers?

Some trinity believers try to stretch the Bible to make it appear that Jesus did teach the trinity. They point to Matt. 28:19, where Jesus mentioned the Father, Son, and holy spirit in the same verse, and then they declare: "This is the trinity!" But is it? Where in that verse does it say that the Father, Son, and holy spirit are co-equal, co-eternal, and that they all make up one God? It doesn't say that at all.

The truth of the matter FROM THE BIBLE is: Jehovah is the Most High. Ps. 83:18. Jesus is Not the Most High; he is the SON of the Most High. Luke 1:32. At John 10:36, he called himself God's Son, NOT God.

Jesus NEVER claimed to be God. At John 17:3, he called his Father the ONLY true God. He denied equality with his Father by saying at John 14:28: "The Father is greater than I am."

After his resurrection, Jesus told Mary: "I am ascending to MY GOD and to your God." (John 20:17) How, then, could Jesus actually BE God?

The truth is that the trinity is not a Christian teaching. Believers of any unscriptural doctrine cannot "worship God with spirit and truth." John 4:24.

He is God, and he is the son. "I and the father are one". I know what you mean, but the idea of 'The Holy Trinity' is a broad and touchy subject (and has been corrupted by the Catholic Church). It's understood that Jesus is both God and God's son. It's a supernatural thing

They are seperate beings but still one entity. It's all different parts of God reaching out to us. For example, the holy spirit can be everywhere at once, but it can't endure the torment that Jesus did. Nor can God, and vice versa...etc etc

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God.
~~The Word is Jesus Christ, the eternal, ultimate expression of God. In the OT God spoke the world into existence; in the gospel God spoke His final word through the living Word, His Son.

John 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham, I AM. (59) Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so past by."
~~"I AM" means He was without beginning- the everpresent one. This is the same word that God in the form of a burning bush said to Moses to tell the people what His (God in the Old Testament) name was. The claim of Jesus to be eternal was a claim to be divine. Thus, in the eyes of the Jews He was guilty of blasphemy, a sin punishable by stoning. This and relaged passages in the Gospel of John are devastaingly powerful in refuting the presumptuous notions of skeptics who say Jesus never claimed to be very God incarnate (in flesh). Jesus publically stated here under scrutiny that he was in fact the God of the Old Testament in flesh.

I question your understanding of the Trinity doctrine. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three separate persons. No one claims the Son is the Father.

You can believe whatever you like. But, if you are going to call yourself a Christian, why not believe what the Christian church believes?

If you are going to deny the deity of Christ, then go to a group that has your beliefs. Like the Jehovah's Witnesses.

Could I call myself a Muslim if I didn't follow the Qur'an? Or the Five Pillars of Islam? Or say prayers toward Mecca five times a day? Of course not!

So, why would someone want to call themselves a Christian, if they don't follow Christian teachings?

By giving supremacy to the Father, Jesus was not diminishing His role as God as well. I am linking to a page that shows how the Trinity has been taught for millennia. You just need to scroll down a bit to see the image.

Opinions are like noses, we all have one. Jesus came here as a human form, the Word turned into flesh. He is God, His Spirit is with us. There is no three gods, only one. Trinity is hard to understand, that does not mean we should quit trying.

In order to have a relationship with some, you should know who they are!! You can do this by following what is written in Acts 2:38. Ask God to reveal Himself to you, He will.

Because the Church - the Body of Christ - of whom Jesus Christ is the Head and all Baptized persons are the members - filled with the Holy Ghost at the feast of Pentecost, and in whom that same Spirit dwells when the Church met in Ecumenical Council....SAID SO. If the Church is who we believe it to be....then no other answer is needed.
