You mailed your return on Feb 8th, it takes at least 5 days for the IRS to receive it, A mailed in return takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks to process so the time frame that you are being given is correct, check the status weekly because the release date can change to an early date

Nope....from my experience, the website is pretty accurate. The date that the IRS said my refund would be received, that was the date that the bank showed the deposit. That said, while your return is processing, the date that the website shows will be a few days after when the deposit is actually made. However, once the status goes from "in processing" to where they have approved the refund, the date will move forward a few days.

They almost always project a late date initially on the Where's My Refund site. It's sometimes 2 weeks off of the actual date too (that's happened to me when I paper filed then they jumped up the direct deposit date). If you keep checking each week---on Wednesdays is when they update---you will soon see that they will give you an actual date of when your direct deposit will be. They only do direct deposits on Fridays too. If you had efiled, there is an IRS chart that shows exactly when they will do a direct deposit depending on the day you efiled. Since you mailed it in, it's hard to say since you don't know the exact day they received it and started processing it. But, I would definitley say you would have it by the middle of March---maybe the 9th or 16th.....

I got on the website to find out when I would receive my taxes, and I was told I wouldn't get them until sometime in March. I got my tax refund the next day. That was a couple of weeks ago.

I've never heard of anyone getting the refund early. Then again, before this year, I never heard of the refund taking more than 2 weeks after the IRS acknowledged receiving the return. The computers at the IRS appear to have reacted poorly to last minute updates resulting form last minute changes to the law.

That's not unusual at all. Those dates are just estimates, as it says on the page.
