When I was a child and a youth the early part of my teens I was loving and had a pure heart and I loved everyone.

But lately I have not liked the person I have become. I have harshly judged the single mothers in my church and was envoius because they could have babies and I was unable to have children and even though I apologized to those involved the hurt and damage I have caused has been done.

I also became very self righteous in thinking because I waited until I was married I was a better person than those that didn't (I dont feel this way anymore)

I vowed as a child/youth that I would never become mean and arrogant and heart heartned and in many ways I have become all these things that I said I would never be.

My question is this how do I become gentle and loving again to my fellow man? What are godly ways to undo a hardened heart?
Life is too short to be angry, bitter and resenful. Thank you for your answers and Peace be with you.

Well, they say acknowledging the problem is the first step towards fixing it so congrats on admitting this, it's a huge step and I admire that you apologized for your wrongdoings. I honestly know how you feel as when I was a born again Christian heavily involved in church this also happened to myself, I have no idea why but I know I also hated it. Now that I've left church and Christianity I am no longer this judgemental person. For yourself, just be aware and try to correct your thinking when you catch it. Good luck with this, you sound like someone who has a very good heart. Peace :-)

Hi.

Well look here:

Galatians 5:22,23

22 On the other hand, the fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 mildness, self-control.

Then see this:

(Matthew 7:7-11) 7 “Keep on asking, and it will be given YOU; keep on seeking, and YOU will find; keep on knocking, and it will be opened to YOU. 8 For everyone asking receives, and everyone seeking finds, and to everyone knocking it will be opened. 9 Indeed, who is the man among YOU whom his son asks for bread—he will not hand him a stone, will he? 10 Or, perhaps, he will ask for a fish—he will not hand him a serpent, will he? 11 Therefore, if YOU, although being wicked, know how to give good gifts to YOUR children, how much more so will YOUR Father who is in the heavens give good things to those asking him?

So the first scripture shows us the qualities we gain when God's spirit is acting with us... In order to get it, we must act. We must work on getting our life in harmony with God's will, asking God for the help to accomplish this... As we change the way we act, the fruitage of the spirit shows in us.

Mike.
