As far as I can tell, the United States government is doing nothing to prevent the illegal immigration, other then to encourage it. Yet our own people are trying desperately to get their wives here, legally, and having to wait YEARS, due to all the red tape.
Come here illegally and we'll kiss their backside - sorry if that offends.
Tell me, when was the last time anyone hired a homeless person looking for work? Or given the homeless free medical care, credit cards, car loans, mortgages, etc.
I honestly believe that our government is waiting for the people of this country to do something, so it doesn't cost them millions.
What do you think?

Many are starting to feel the effect of the immigration system that has been having limits raised to bring in people that work for lower wages. The effect that it has had upon the computer industry has been a massive negative effect upon citizens with degrees - young and old alike. Moves to raise yet again the cap for such has been something that I personally have been writing to complain about to my political reps about for several years now. With the cost of so much within this country doing anything but going down - I have found more and more in agreement with me from all walks of life.
What the government is doing? As much as those that are supported by big business think that they can get away with. Many want to ignore the fact that many citizens do not have a job because the position is being filled by someone that was brought into this country by a company to undercut and lower wages for workers - while CEO pay and company profits are rising.
My belief is that we need to start demanding that those that are elected reflect the belief of those that they are to represent vs. special interest groups. If they don't - vote them out and ride them on the issues till they leave the office.
There is still much work that needs to be done to address the real issues that immigration brings up. Bringing in people from outside of the country to take jobs away from citizens is one such issue.
As to those that are illegal thus nothing but criminals intent on being law breakers - they need to be deported, no favor shown to them whatsoever, no free education for their children that they came over to have within the borders of this country, no public assistance of any kind. They need to be made to leave. The immigration laws that address such people need to be enforced. Local law enforcement needs to be allowed to address this issue within local communities and the federal authorities need to address the federal issues with firm discussions with the countries these people are coming from. Stronger support for law enforcement along our borders as they enforce the law.

The US is doing nothing about LEGAL immigration. There is nothing to be done. There is a legal process and it is followed. As far as the ILLEGAL problem....the US is not doing enough. They need to heavily fine and/or imprison those who hire ILLEGALS, and start deporting ILLEGALS. They need to build a fence and/or use the military to patrol our borders.
