I believe the Earth is expanding as it gets closer to the Sun, which explains why Antarctica and the North Pole caps are melting. Millions of years ago the Earth was just solid rock and it expanded into a vass mass of water.

Explain more to me and don't refer me to any wikipedia encyclopedia. Don't tell me the effects of Global Warming.

Tell me in your own words in how the World will cease to exist.

Expanding? as an explanation of ice caps melting? Your grasp of physics seems a little off.

Rock does not "expand" and become water.

Technically the Earth does "expand" as it gets closer to the sun because: (a) the Earth gets closer to the Sun as our orbit decays; (b) being closer means we receive more sunlight; (c) more light striking the earth, means it gets warmer; (d) rocks expand as they warm up.

But the ice caps melting is because of the overall warmer temperature, not because rocks are expanding. The expansion is another side effect of the warming.

HOWEVER, it will take billions of years before our orbit decays far enough to make this kind of difference to the rocks measurable.

Sun Spot activity, which goes in 11 year cycles, and other Sun cycles cause a greater or lessor amount of light to reach the Earth. These fluctuation are much more noticible to us in our lives. The Sun is currently increasing its light output, which makes Earth warmer. It makes Mars warmer, too.

re: How will the world cease to exist?
Many billions of years in the future the Sun will no longer put out enough light to keep the Earth warm. The planet will freeze.

The burning of fossil fuels is the reason for global warming.
