No, if the student decides to learn, they will learn, if they dont want to learn, they wont. So, making the day longer will just make them more miserable!

I think it will give the school longer time to teach the kids instead of cramming a whole lot of stuff in a short period of time. But at the same time, I don't think so. Kids will grow tired from the long school days and will lose interest. Some schools don't wanna have the kids in "gang activity" and that's why they want longer school days. I personally think that if you want to make kids smarter and help them stay out of trouble then schools needs to come up with creative ideas to do with the kids. Ideas that will interest the kids and make them learn at the same time.

Just my view on this topic. All the best!

No I don't think it would make them smarter it would make them bored with school and tired and kids will drop out just to have more freedom . They think kids are bored with school now , well they will see if they do that . Parents hate when they have to stay 1 hr . longer at work how do they think the kids would feel ! I am 31 yrs. old and I'm answering on behalf of my kids , I say No !

All work and no play makes jack a very dull boy, all work and no play makes jack a very dull boy, all work and no play makes jack a very dull boy...

no, kids' attention spans on last so long. after a while it will just be a waste of time + adds more stress from staying up later for homework

But some kids (like me) might get smarter if its only 1-2 hours longer, any longer and id be pissd.

I am a mom and I would have to say no. Kids need time to let their energy out rather than sit in a classroom any longer than they already do. I think alot of teachers assign too much homework in the evenings and I definately do not think kids should go to school all year round.

Just my OO.

No, I think they will be making a mistake, longer school days is not going to change them for getting smarter. they are taking away. the free time that they should be having fun. there will be a lot more problems, and them ditching school. they should just leave it alone.

I don't think the problem is the length of the school day but the lack of effort on the part of the students to apply themselves to their work.
