Try these sites:
http://www.chiangmaihouse.com/
http://www.chiangmaibroker.com
http://www.chiangmai-property.thailand-real-estate.info
Don't panic if you see it in Thai. They have on their page a change button for English. Just look for it. You can also try:
www.bahtsold.com
but they're not specifically for Chiangmai but more like classified ads by expats. You can also check :
www.sunbeltasia.com
in the northern location. They have an office in Chiangmai, too.
I just found another site in English and it seems to be a very good one:http://www.firstnationalthailand.com/

Are you already in Chiang mai?
If so drive around and look for houses that you like the look of, look empty and have a sign, usually in Thai with a phone number on. Call or ask a Thai speaking friend to call. That's it.
Also ask tuk tuk or taxi drivers, they will have seen the signs.
I've not rented in Chiang mai but I've found houses this way in Phuket and Trang.
Good luck

you can try www.chiangmai-online.com which has a good list of accommodation or www.chiangmainews.com for upto date events. Why rent when the hotels and guest houses are so cheap and your meals will be cooked and laundry and bedding cleaned?
I have a friend in the Chiang Mai radio station, if you have no joy on the web, then I will ask her to contact you

Try the website below. www.thaiwebsites.com is fairly current on listings of related websites. There appears to be a page full of listings for real estate agents and properties. Also, you could check the similar page for Bangkok as a few agents also have offices in Chiang Mai.

Good luck
