yes teachers are more important. If there were no teachers there would be nobody to teach people how to become doctors. "You give a man a fish he eats for a day. You teach a man to fish he will eat for life." Same goes for your question. "You heal a man and he is fine for now. You teach a man to heal and he will heal himself and others." Good question.

As a teacher, I am saying "no."
Teachers just need a 4-year degree. Doctors need much more. Teachers, if they mess up, there's often another teacher the next year who can fix the problem. Doctors, if they mess up, the person is usually stuck. So, if this is with the debate about if teachers should be paid more and doctors less, I disagree with that.

That being said, it can be very taxing to be a teacher. You put in far more hours than you are paid for, and you give your all to helping kids learn. Teachers can (and strive to) teach for life, but are not nearly as important in influencing children in that regard as parents are (unless the parents are not good parents, in which the need to be a good teacher is significantly increased). However, the demands placed on the teachers are very large. Each parent seems to want the teacher to be focused on their individual child. They complain if their children aren't being challenged enough, or if it is too hard for their children. With thirty individuals and just one person in charge, it is very difficult to cater to all of the individual needs.
So I do believe teachers deserve more than they're getting. But I do not believe that doctors deserve less.

Neither is more important than the other. It depends on what you are in need of at the time. If you seek knowledge find a good teacher. If you seek healing find a good doctor.

While there are many inept teachers there are also many incompetent doctors, but there are also a large number of both teachers and physicians who happen to be excellent at what they have been trained to do.

As I stated earlier, neither is more important than the other.

I think that if the teachers teach well and really try to make an impact on their students, they are just as important as doctors. Both play an important role in our society, but many teachers these days don't try very hard to educate their students or find different and better ways to teach.

It's easy to say without teachers there would be no doctors but it's up to the students to learn and study and get the good grades to become doctors.

You can't. It's the old apples and oranges thing. Doctors need the knowledge that teachers can give them before they can be doctors, but teachers also need the expertise of a doctor! How we e pick one over the other!

No.

I'm an adult (verging on old fartdom even as we speak) and I've met my old teachers, some of whom have become good friends. I call them by their first names. Know what? Half of them are idiots that couldn't find their own butt with a map and both hands. It's amazing that they were put in charge of educating.

Give me a doctor any day. At least they're well tested to be suitable.

though both are important they are important in different way. doctor's do save lives....but.....teachers help shape the lives of young people which affects their future. you see a doctor when you're sick and unless you're sick everyday you really don't see them that often, you see a teacher almost everyday for 12 to 16+ years....I dont' think most people see their family that much!! so good quality teachers are important in life.

You can't have a doctor without someone teaching the doctor to be a doctor in the first place.
