brain bogglers????

Question

Please answer these questions in order:
1. If pizza is round why does it go in a square box?
2. When we say "this hurts so much its not even funny" why would it be funny anyway?
3. Why doesn't glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
4. Why is it said that an alarm clock is going off when really its coming on?

These are the questions that haunt me!!!

1) It's probably a lot easier to make a square box than a round one. If you want to try, take out a piece of paper, try making it into a box or something close by folding it. Then try to make it into a circular box. BIG difference.

2) When people get hurt sometimes it can look funny (ex: Someone taps you on the shoulder, you turn around to look at them, and end up walking straight into the doorframe)

3) Too much of the glue to dry? If you've ever put a gigantic blob of glue on your paper it doesn't dry very quickly. Also, the glue inside the bottle isn't exposed to any outside oxygen/air (you know how when you leave the bottle open, it ends up drying up?)

4) Many expressions don't make much sense. English as a language has many exceptions to rules. Maybe that's why the saying caught on in the first place :)

1. Because a square is easier to carry than a circle.
2. Because we laugh at ourselves and others when we get hurt. But when it's really bad, we don't laugh. It's serious.
3. Because the little green elf that lives in closets put rubber inside your bottles.
4. Because when we yell at someone, we don't go on. We go off on them.

2) People laugh when somebody gets hurt, I do it many times but there are cases where there is serious injury that you can't laugh.
