I don't believe that religion is losing its influence. It may seem that way because there are more people on this earth now then there ever was before and we can't possibly hear what everyone thinks. Since it is generally believed that it is 'cool' not to have a religion, many people that do have a religion are afraid to admit it because they will be made fun of.
As long as humankind is around, there will be religion

Absolutely not. I think if anything it has more influence than ever.
I think the thing that has been pushed aside is spirituality.
And there is a difference.
All organized religion creates separation of people. It defines us by whether we live under the rules set forth by that religion which was created by man.
Religions are based in fear and guilt, which create doubt. We are all born with a feeling a sense of God. And God gives us the natural ability to communicate and be close to him whenever we want or have the need.
As we are introduced to religion, we are taught that there are limits to this according to whether we are living our lives in a certain way or not. And we are taught that we are born from sin and that we must constantly strive to be better and work our way back towards God and his good graces.
When in reality we never left it.
We are always with God, because we are a part of God. No matter what we do or say.
I could go on and on, but, there is not enough time or room.
Let me just say that the world will change for the better when we turn to the Spirituality of God instead of the religion of Man.
This will be our salvation.
God loves you no matter what.
Don't let anyone tell you any different!!!!

Depends what country you are talking about.
In the Netherlands, Sweden, and Finland (around where I live), absolutely. People sometimes just call themselves Christians here, but they don't practice religion at all.
In England, unused churches are being used as restaurants, libaries, and even bars/ clubs. In France, only 5% of the CATHOLIC population bothers to attend church.
As for the the Middle East and U.S....well....I think younger generations will be more open-minded about non-religious things....I hope....

That would be heaven but the beliefs always comme back. Some people needs to believe in something. Anything that is magic and surreal. Their simple life is not enough. why?
