Okay, here's the story I used to be fairly inactive, but have always eaten fairly healthy. About 7-8 months agoI weighed 210 (I'm 6'3") and then I got a job this past march at a sports store, which made me more active, I got a younger, more energetic dog, which got me out more, I ate a little less, and started lifting weights. Now, about 8 months, and having a different but still active job, i found I was down to 180. My stomach was flat (still had slight man boobage, but very, very slight), and even though I eat large amounts of food, mainly "healthy" food and kicking my soda habit, I continue to lose weight. This time last week was when I weighed 180, I now weigh 175. It seems I can't stop my body from losing weight now, is this fine, or am I paranoid? I never seem hungry anymore, and I can skip meals without a second thought. Perhaps my stomach has shrunk?

No, you are not losing weight too quickly. Doctors recommend a weight loss of no more than 2 pounds per week. 8 months would be approximately 32 weeks. If you were 210 and are now 175, you have lost 35 pounds...a little more than a pound a week. Congratulations!

Now according to a normal BMI, your weight should range from 148 to 199. Right now, you are in the center. This is a wide range so base it on your bone structure and what looks good on you. If you would like to check this for yourself, please go here: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

If you get concerned that you are losing too much weight, just cut back on your activity level. If you are exercising daily, cut it back to every other day (which is what is recommended anyway).

Do not get into the habit of skipping meals! Your body will think you are starving it and the brain will go into starvation mode. This results in the body hoarding what you eat as fat instead of burning it. You will then start to gain weight even though you eat less and less. Continue to eat all your meals as you don't have to eat a lot...just eat healthy.
