Not really.

The new year day was Feb 18th this year. The new year period is 15 days (half a luna month), which will end on the 4th of March this year. However modern Chinese rarely celebrates beyond the 3th day. We all gotta work.

Traditionally, the Chinese new year is not over until the Lantern festival (the 15th of the first month in Chinese lunar calendar). So the Chinese new year lasts for 15 days.
