I'm back and forth. I feel troubled. When I think with my heart I end up a fool! But when I think with my brain, my heart aches!

First, your heart contains no neural tissue involved in conscious thought.

So let's rephrase this slightly -- when you think with your logic centers, your emotional centers produce negative feelings, and when you allow yourself to 'think' with your emotion centers, your logic centers tell you you are a fool.

This means that your logical inner life and emotive inner life are at odds with each other.

Find out why and resolve the dichotomy.

Open God's word,(The Bible ). Your Heart will not ache if you know Christ died on the cross for your sins. If you repent of those sins, ( The Greek word for repent means "a changed life." ) So many people say, "Saved from what," The wages of sin is death and the gift of God is eternal life. Death meaning seperated from God to spend eternity in a REAL HELL. Christ come to fulfill the Law of Moses not to do away with. Once you have accepted you are a sinner, repented to our God, get into a Bible Believing church and study God's word. Make sure that the church offers a good discipleship class, given by the Pastor. If you love the Lord you will try to be more like Christ. Not to say that we will never let God down, and sin again, but to die daily in your sin,(meaning ask forgiveness of sin everyday.) But, we should strive to please our Father in Heaven and be more like Him, because we do love Him. My life is so much more fulfilled being in the word and knowing how God wants me to be. Again, God's word is the answer, get into it, it's wonderful. The book of Romans is a good place to start. The Bible is the inspired word of the Lord, not just a book written by men. It has existed longer then any book, there has to be a reason for that. The Lord told those men what to write and some of those men were there and experienced these things when Jesus walk the earth, when He died on the cross, when He was buried and when He rose from the dead and the miracles He did while on the earth. He walked the earth as man to experience what in our lives we experience and yet He remained sinless and took our sin to the cross. That is how you know when it is evil!

There are some actions that are a given that they are evil.
Any action that harms another is evil.
By harm I do not mean cases of someone with very thin skin being offended at something you say.

Other then obvious cases of harm the way we tell if an action is good or evil is the results that come from that action. You can not get a possitive result from a negative action. Equally you can not get a negative result from a possitive action.

don't worry about good and evil, the only thing you should worry about is your true path, which you instinctively know, if your logic and emotion are at odds, it sounds like you're not on your true path, so you need to do some soul-searching.

don't listen to these other people, by the way, not everything done out of compassion will have positive consequences, for instance, giving money to a beggar might cause a fight over the money given to him.

Everyone knows right from wrong deep down, it's temptation that gets you in trouble. Whatever your situation is you know what to do about it. If you pray you may feel better.

I hope I helped even a tad-bit.

You Heart aches because your Soul is letting you know

Have you heard "Listen to your Heart" ?

Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it.

Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held.

Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books.

Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin.

Believe nothing just because someone else believes it.

Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true
