If you go to a pain management doctor, they may prescribe narcotics as part of your therapy, but you must prove that you have been in pain for longer than 3 months and have tried other pain relievers with no appreciable difference. I have something similar, Pelvic Congestion Syndrome, and I take Oxycontin and Oxy IR for pain relief. It has given me my life back. The pain doctor will want to see your records from your GYN and will work with you to choose a regimine that gives you the most pain relief with the fewest side effects. No one has to live with severe pain, but you have to prove that you aren't just drug seeking. That means following ALL the doctor's orders, and perhaps working up to narcotic pain medications.

No, I have had PCOS for years and years now. I know it cause horrible periods and can cause ovary pain when you have cysts, but PCOS is easily managed with birth control pills, metformen (sp?), or other drugs that eliviate the pain of periods or lessen them. With BC pills like Yasmin, you only have to have 3 periods a year now.
PCOS is not a very painful disorder/disease when treated.

Birth Control pills will really help you with this problem. Short of surgery, narcotics will only temporarily ease the pain. Find a new gyn.

I have PCOS, and haven't noticed much pain at all if any. What kind of pain do you have? I would talk to your Gyno.
