I need help writing a letter to send to General Motors about their Hummer and other big SUVs. I would ideally like to mention points about how they are increasing global Warming, making us more dependent on mideast nations for oil imports, helping fund terrorism, the Iraq war and peak oil.. I'd like to send it to the heads of General Motors and the Hummer dealerships across America. Thanks!

Your intentions are good, and you've already mentioned several of the key points. You did leave out our dependence on oil from our enemies in Venezuela.
Sadly, though, your letter will be just another letter out of thousands received each day at GM, Ford, etc. The automotive executives, designers, engineers, and dealers all know that SUVs, big trucks, and sports cars are gas-guzzlers. But as long as there is a market for such vehicles, they will continue to make them and sell them, regardless of letters or gas prices.
I don't want to discourage your completely from writing your letter; I just want you to know what will happen.

They're just going to laugh at you. Global warming is a theory, peak oil is a theory, funding terrorism is a theory....
However oil dependence is a fact, and the hummer and similar SUVs are prime contributors to our dependence. If you look at the historical record, I think the SUV craze to drive up the demand for oil in America was intentional. For 2 years prior to the Iraq war, the government was giving out tax breaks for companies that bought SUVs! Clearly they were aware of the supply and demand of oil when they did this!

Did you know that 85% of the oil we use comes from our own oil fields here. IT could also be increased, why as it not happened. Big oil could not cry they need to raise prices because of the mid east. GM ALSO THE ONLY COMPANY WORKING ON HYDROGEN CARS AND TRUCKS. There goal is to have them ready for the market in less than 10 years. You need to write your letters to Bush and tell him to stop giving his good old boys bib breaks and letting them scerw us all.
