I'd be a little concerned. But if it seems to be in good shape, go for it- Just don't pay too much. Cars with this amount of mileage tend to be much less reliable- no matter what brand it is. Run a Carfax on the vehicle (carfax.com- it is $15) to ensure it has a clear title- if it has been wrecked or something else, don't buy it.

I would not pay any more than $3750 for it, no matter how nice it may look.

Hondas Are genuinely a good car and they maintain their resale value much longer than most other brands just look through your local newspaper classifieds and you will see 99 honda accords still selling for $5000-$8500. A friend of mine total her 99 accord with 125000 miles on it and with the insurance money she bought a 2002 nissan Altima. so what I would do is find out whether or not the previous owner kept up the maintanence on it especially check timing belt replacement and valve adjustments Hondas are very particular about timing belts and valve adjustments. Hondas are known for going over 200,000 miles if the owner follows the maintanence schedule. If the previous owner kept it in good shape hey I would buy it.

P.S. if you take it in to be checked out you can't truly believe everything the mechanic tells you because he may see a deal
and try to talk you out of buying the car so he can get it. Happens all to often. Also Remember mechanics are paid by the job so alot of times they tend to over exaggerate the estimate by putting things on there that may need replacing but are not crucial to the functioning of the vehicle just to get more money out of the job. take it to several people or a TRUSTED mechanic before buying.
