You should be tell us why you joined. If you do not know I would think you should not re-enlist.

The origin of the Military was an action to protect big cities from encroaching smaller empires. Like Rome against a small Empire.

It may have been earlier times before that, that could have been when Military was conceived of because other Policing actions appeared to become corrupted by organized crime. The Military was started for a social reason like that. Like a Big Brother watching over the Smaller organizations: Police, Marshal, Sheriff, etc..

You joined the Military? Actually you signed up and are a subject of the laws of the higher ranking members.

Read the fine print on your contract. Where it says, basically, "Your body is now owned by the Military organization and you don't even have to right to get a tattoo on it without asking permission, now, because you are governed property of the Military organization you signed up with.

Are you going into Law?

I could use a good Military tactician with a Military Law Degree.

Sounds like you might be a plebe at West Point, suffering from mid-term anxiety. Maybe you're some poor grunt just surviving your basic training. You could be a regular soldier overwhelmed by your advanced training.

Probably none of the above are true. It doesn't really matter. Sounds like you're just a good man down with a dose of the blues. The only thing I can do for you is tell you how how much I admire you for taking on your difficult and dangerous task. The American people are one-hundred percent behind you. This is a time in your life you will always remember and can always be proud of. I suggest you try to let go of whatever's got you down. Take a walk, have a beer, kiss your girlfriend -- anything to get your mind to stop obsessing about those things. Get a good night's sleep. Eat a hearty breakfast. I'll bet by morning you'll have a fresh attitude and the answer to your problem will be obvious to you. It's all about attitude, friend. Isn't it always better to maintain a positive attitude in the face of adversity? Don't let those mean ol' blues get you down!

Good Luck.....................

We have a military to protect our way of life. You joined the Army so other people can enjoy this way of life.

Why do we have a military? To "provide for the common defense".

Why did you join the Army? You tell us, but from your question, it was probably for the bennies or something similarly stupid like "chicks dig guys in uniforms".

Translate that as "the WRONG reasons".
