You can't say GOD, or JESUS, or the name of any deity. Nor can you choose yourself. It needs to be something external to you, but tangible. You have to find something in this physical world we live in that has lifted you up and made you feel alive, connected, and spiritually complete in some way.

For me, I would have to say Music is one of the things I feel has the power to enrich my spirit and make me feel good spiritually (alive, connected etc...)

Salah - yes, I play the flute. But you can physically feel music. Especially drums.

Fire dance. Or if it must be tangible, the fire which is the focus of my dance once I have fed it my own blood.

Well, music for sure, nature as well - nothing like walking through a forest or on the beach. A smile in a particular someone's eyes, a good conversation about life in all of its infinite variety.

Going hunting or fishing. Or in general just being out in the wilderness makes me feel uplifted. I love walking through the forests and glazing upon the ancient trees.

A really great session of lovemaking, giving my sweetie multiple orgasms, finishing off with a tremendous climax, and then cuddling with a nice glass of red wine and maybe a little smoke. I don't know of anything more spiritually uplifting than that.

"It needs to be something external to you, but tangible."

In the end, everything comes from within. There really is no external side.

But as you are looking for something perceived as outside - part of Maya - I would say the world...more specifically nature.

not that I agree with how you worded your question at all... but I would have to say my friends, I have some really close friends that go to my church and they are awesome! they lift me up and keep me trusting and they just help me out so much... through the thick and the thin they are there for me! I'm so thankful the Lord has put them in my life! but of course without Him I would be nothing...

Nature.

I don't know how it happened, but I seem to be turning into a tree-hugger. Can Earth Shoes be far behind for me? Will I have to trade in my Durango's and Payless (I'm frugal, dammit) for Birkenstocks?

My girlfriend. My family. My friends.

Also, I don't mean to offend you, but Music isn't exactly tangible (unless you mean you play an instrument).

When I speak in that unknown, heavenly language when I worship and praise Him. Or when I am in prayer with Him. That is uplifting!!
