In my opinion they need to be restricted as most car accident are done by young immature drivers. they need to be greater trained not to speed and drink while driving.

I belive a teenager should have at least an A+ average in school to even be considered for a permit to drive. Their parents should sign a contract with the teenager and law enforcement that forbids cell phones in a vehicle at all times, the parents to serve jail time if the aggrement is violated, and all teens should be required to view explicit footage of the nastiest car wrecks available and watch a live autopsy of a dead person from a car wreck as part of their training learning to drive. They should be required to submit ot random, though frequent drug testing. And if they plan to drive with other friends in the car, an adult should be required to tag along. That should help curb some of the fatal accidents on the road.

Well, being a teen of course I'm fine with it, but I do realize that a lot of accidents in the US are caused by people in my age group. My opinion is that just because some teens want to act irresponsibly while driving doesn't mean that all teens should be punished for their actions.

Personally I don't see much difference between teens' driving ability (or lack thereof) and an adult who thinks she/he is so important that they have to be on the phone while they drive. They pay no more attention to what's around them than a teen with a car full of friends.

I think starting to drive at 17 is suitable. 16 may be a little too young unless they understand the rules really well. The teens I see on the street are irresponsible and use their car to showoff with speed and noises -.-

Most aren't mature enough or experienced enough to have unlimited driving privileges. There is nothing in the Constitution or Bill of Rights that says we have a right to drive. It is a privilege, and only safe drivers should be allowed to have a license.

I think that it makes me feel rather unsafe on the road but at the same time I went through the phase of making people feel unsafe on the road also. I guess that's the only way that they will get the chance to get driving experience is to get the practice.
