You cannot get a free birth certificate in the U.K. When you are born here, your parents register your birth. If you are looking for a birth certificate on the black market, I suggest you don't even try, it is illegal.

Birth certificates are never free and, unless they are your own or from long ago, not so easy to acquire.

You can't. I've been researching my family roots and every certificate costs between £7.50 to £9....plus postage
