We've heard only some cards work? Anyone know which? Or which are better?

Also there was a rumor about these getting stolen in the mail - is that just a rumor?

Thanks!

It really depends on where they are in Iraq. Unfortunately not all of the camps have the same major provider. At one came I was at AT&T was fine but when we move to another you had to get a Segovia card and then a different one latter on. For most you can get a cash type accout through the internet( no physical card, just a 'card number') and add to it when needed.

The phone cards that my husband and I use are the AT&T Global prepaid phone card. Your best bet is to get them online at: http://www.consumer.att.com/prepaidcard/ OR if there is a military base near by, and you or your friend have an ID card, buy them from the PX and e-mail the person in Iraq the Pin #.

I know that if you order them from AAFES.com, they send them directly to the soldier, and I am sure they package them specifically so that people recognize what is inside...so there is a chance they could get stolen.

That is why I suggest getting your hands on one yourself, and e-mailing him/her the pin #.

The best found so far is a company my husband uses. It's called Spawar. It's 4 cents a min to call back to the states. Everything is done over the internet so troops don't need to worry about losing phone cards or getting them stolen. Minutes can be added from back here or over there.

go to AAFES.com and you can by phone cards and have them sent to your friend that is depolyed.

This is the only item the non-military memebers can by from AAFES. and these phone cards will work in where in the world.
