No. You will have an anaesthetic injection which can be a little uncomfortable, but then the area around the tooth is numbed so that you won't feel any pain. It's not as bad as it sounds. I used to be terrified of the dentist, but not any more. If you feel any sort of pain after the anaesthetic wears off, you can take a paracetamol or ibuprofen tablet.

Not if the mouth is numbed first - you won't feel a thing. But I would ask to be put to sleep as it makes a horrible noise coming out. I had a baby tooth out like that and the cracking noise horrified me. But three wisdom teeth out in the dentist's chair, valium injection in the back of the hand, easy peasey, and you will have the best sleep afterwards too. Plus more sympathy!

Not really. The dentist will give you an injection to numb any pain. This is probably the most painful bit. It feels like a pinch on your gum and lasts a few seconds. Might make your eyes water a bit but seriously it is NOT THAT BAD.

I had all four wisdom teeth out and I was expecting it to be much much worse than what it was.

nah i just got mine out last monday. They have this new topical they apply to your gum area around the tooth. Then they inject you with a local or a general which is a numbing solution. You do not feel that at all. Then when they pull your tooth out its just a little bit of pressure. No pain what so ever.

It doesn't. I'm petrified of the dentist and had a back tooth out, I found it more uncomfortable to open my mouth that wide, than anything else! There is no pain at all.

I got 2 of my top teeth taking out before.

At the start he injected my gums to numb them- That hurt a LITTLE but only for a few minutes.
When he actually takes them out it doesnt hurt at all. It just feels a little weird 'cos your head wobbles and you hear the tooth coming out.
you also bleed alot after it but that stops after awhile, and seeing as the numbness continues for around an hour after you leave, there is no pain afterwards.

You'll be fine! :P

Not while he's taking your teeth out, but afterwards after the numbing medicine wears off, yes it hurts. Prescription pain killers help, but there's still some pain involved

No it won't hurt. Your gums will be numb when they tug it out. Yea you may feel a bit of tugging, but it won't even hurt.

I'd be more worried about the needle injection that causes only a lil bit of pain.

will agree with all above, once the tooth is numb you will feel teh sensation of movement, but no pain should be felt, if it is you need to advise your dentist so they can readminister the anaesthetic.
