I went to this barber shop and my scalp sometimes gets dry. The barber suggested using Listerine on my scalp. Is this safe?

Listerine would be safe. You can use witch hazel instead or aloe gel. Thayer's Witch Hazel has a formula w/ aloe vera.

Good shampoo for you might be Head & Shoulders' Dry Scalp Formula.

Jojoba oil is a good scalp treatment. It is non-comedogenic and washes out easily. Just apply a drop to the palms of your hands and run them through your scalp at night. Wash out in am or leave in. (Desert Essence Jojoba Oil - Trader Joe's & Whole Foods)

You got to get a new barber. Listerine is meant for the mouth. I would recommend you talk to another professional like a doctor.

No its going to dry it out more. Most men don't use conditioner maybe you should get a nice moisturizing one. Loreal is very good. Or you can try some old spice products. I am not sure of you ethnicity cause the type of hair you have would depend on which product would be best. But please don't put loads of alcohol filled Listerine in your hair unless you want it to not only dry but dry and brittle. Good luck

I would think Listerine would make your scalp worse because of the high alcohol content. But can't say I have ever tried it. I don't think it would harm you though.

Sure. Safe for everything except for any bad breath or plaque you might have on your head.
