As long as it is not something vulgar, ie, cursing, there is nothing wrong with reading something, especialy something Biblical, at a funeral. I am sooooooooo sorry for your loss. I lost my grandma last year and still miss her terribly. If you want, you can run it by whoever is officiating. I know that when my Grandmother's died the Brothers who officiated were incredibly flexible.
Remember the Bible was given to us as both a tool to learn of Jehovah, and as a comfort. I love the scriptures in Revalations 21 when I feel sad about my Grandma.
PS We are Christians.

Well. First off, I'm not sure if the local Kingdom Hall would allow speeches or eulogies. We usually have short funerals and ONE brother speaks from the Bible. I am thinking that you want to read that to support your beliefs that we go to heaven when we die. I am sure that the speaking brother will be able to show everyone many scriptures that say we do NOT. That is something most Christians believe in that we do not.

It seems appropriate to mention that this "questioner" insults the memory of his deceased "nanna" when he implies that she was not a Christian.
As Christians, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the family of the deceased must decide on the details surrounding the funeral of their loved one.
Among Jehovah's Witnesses, a brief bible-based funeral talk is generally delivered by a family member or congregation elder, who generally reads aloud those Scriptures himself. If the deceased person professed the heavenly hope, it would be entirely appropriate to read 2 Corinthians 4:16-5:1.
(2 Corinthians 4:16-5:1) Therefore we do not give up, but even if the man we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is being renewed from day to day. For though the tribulation is momentary and light, it works out for us a glory that is of more and more surpassing weight and is everlasting; while we keep our eyes, not on the things seen, but on the things unseen. For the things seen are temporary, but the things unseen are everlasting. For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, should be dissolved, we are to have a building from God, a house not made with hands, everlasting in the heavens.
Interestingly, the vast majority (literally 99.99%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

John 14:28 "YOU heard that I reported to YOU, i leave and that i'm coming [back] to YOU. in case you enjoyed me, you may have fun that i'm going my thank you to the daddy, because of fact the daddy is larger than i'm." Jesus says it himself that the daddy is larger than he's. Rev.3:14 "And to the angel of the congregation in l. a.·o·di·ce?a write: those are the flaws that the Amen says, the truthful and real witness, the beginning up of the creation by God." This truthful and real witness is Jesus Christ. God made him first till now something of creation and as Jesus has a beginning up and God does no longer, they won't be one and the comparable. Col a million:15-17 he's a ineffective ringer for the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; sixteen because of fact by potential of him all [different] issues have been created interior the heavens and upon the earth, the flaws seen and the flaws invisible, no rely no rely if or no longer they're thrones or lordships or governments or government. All [different] issues have been created by him and for him. 17 additionally, he's till now all [different] issues and by potential of him all [different] issues have been made to exist, here back, the 1st born of all creation. Jesus grow to be the 1st of creation, no longer = to his Father. Matt 24:36 suitable to that day and hour no person is familiar with, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, yet in basic terms the daddy. it extremely is with reference to the time whilst Jehovah will come and get rid of the wickedness in the international. word that Jesus reported that he did no longer comprehend that factor, in basic terms the daddy is familiar with. So if Jesus is God why does no longer he have extensive-unfold. To me it extremely is the suited factor to teach the trinity isn't top.

the verses talk about having more than physical outlook to the life. it therefore focuses on a spiritual life. Depending on your nanny's life style, it wouls be applicable if she was a spiritual minded person. that in fact is what the Bible encourages us to have, store up treasures in heaven, to have a personal relationship with God. I think it is a good passage to read for all so they too can have some thought of a spiritual focus.

First, you may check to see if there will be a funeral? Many witnesses simply cremate and have the remains disposed of.
There will be a memorial at the Kingdom Hall.
