Go with UBUNTU. It's easy to install and use.

alot of people praise UBUNTU. i never tried it but i have tried mandriva 2007 and SuSE both have the option to install Gnome. If your looking for something like windows you might want to use KDE its just like the windows environment.

I would try the Fedora Core. They have a lot of great system utilities for netorking, system updates, etc.
