Anyone cooked asparagas in a slow cooker? How did it turn out? Mushy or delicious?

I've never done it, but they would be mushy.

Here's my favorite way. I do them in a skillet so they lie flat. Chop garlic and sprinkle over them. Drizzle some olive oil over them, and salt and pepper. Put enough water in the skillet to steam them (very little! only maybe 1/4 or 1/2 inch.) Cook on high until they turn bright green and a fork goes into the bottom with a little give. Drain immediately and don't cover, or they'll keep cooking. Yum! You can also do this in advance and serve it cold or at room temp.

Asparagus takes less than 5 minutes to cook. You would not need to cook it in a slow cooker....it would be extremely mushy. You would lose all vitamin content.

I'd recommend just cooking before you serve dinner... unless you do like soggy asparagas.

the only way that this would be a good idea is if you are trying to make asparagus baby food!

oooh, don't do it!!
it will be soggy and gross.

Just lightly steam your asparagus and serve with a lemon vinaigrette!
