I'm writing a novel and I've got stuck. The male protagonist has just realised that he's in love with this woman who is about to be married to someone else. He visits her room and the two of them share a "moment", so realistically speaking, would they go further and what exactly would be going through this guy's mind. I'm female so it's hard to think like a guy.

Okay the guy she's engaged to is a criminal and she doesn't want to marry him but she has to. She's loved the main guy for chapter but he was all confused about his feelings because of his situation.

To keep the story interesting, they can try to go further but something will pull the man away and they will have to start again later, only with higher expectations.

You should draw out the suspense. If she is about to get married to the criminal, then she will obviously be apprehensive in getting involved with this other man, even if it would be an escape from the doomed wedding. So I would just make it a harmless peck on the cheek but a longing and knowing look between them. You could build it up to the wedding day when she finally realises that she is making the wrong decision and decides to elope with the other fella to Gretna, home of the quickie marriage.

You have to create tension by having the guy actually dislike her because the woman is flirting with him - she is using this as a barrier to conceal her true feelings, which of course we don't realise at the moment and neither does he. The scene ends with him leaving in some confusion as to how he really feels now as she has exposed a side of herself that he does not admire. He also thinks that her dismissive behaviour is a sign that she doesn't have feelings for him.

The rest of the book could then focus on misunderstandings and further confusions until eventual resolution.

The two of them are shagging away to their hearts content when suddenly the door crashes open and an enraged boyfriend charges in. He beats the protagonist to a pulp before violating his girlfriend, and then adminstering a good hiding to her. The wedding is cancelled temporarily, but in the meantime the woman discovers that the injured lover stands a good chance of being in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. She is distraught and filled with deep blame induced emotions. What will she decide and how. The police are on the lookout for the mans assailant, but nobody is talking. ______________Go on from there.

I don't think even a man would stoop so low as to hump a bride on her wedding day. I would suggest he takes his trousers down and she lays on the bed with her pants around her ankle when someone knocks on the door and says "We are ready for you, the groom has been waiting for 15 minutes now." I can't help you any further as you asked what the man would do. Now it is all down to what the woman would do and you have to decide that. Over to you. Whats the book called? I bedded the bride or the close escape.

..Lets see...If they really had a heavy history together that had been dormant for awhile, yes, it might go further into sex. If the guy and the bride to be had been just "friends", that would be an easy way to turn the readers against the guy (or possibly the girl, depending on who was the aggressor) If the guy is just saying, "I had to tell you how I felt before....", well thats been done. I'd find a different angle, something more edgy or quirky. Good luck.

Depends on the moment, but in reality, if she was already engaged and had no idea about this guy, she would not do anything with him. He would tell her how he feels maybe, she would say thats nice but I am in love with another man. He would be depressed and beat himself up over the fact he did nothing sooner. Very cliche situation.

First off I think i'd probably talk it out first before sharing a "moment". but for argument's sake, let's say i didn't. I guess my main thoughts would be does she really love me? Is she gonna drop this other dude for me? should i feel bad for the other guy? i mean obviously if i'm in love with her then i want this to continue, but will she want this to continue or is she just sharing this "moment" to get it outta her system...stuff like that. alotta doubt depending on whether she reassures him or drops him.

As a man, I think his desire would be to offer to marry her, and offer just about anything to keep her in his life. of course her response could either make his day, or totally crush him. He would probably be scared, and his heart would be pounding hard enough to almost drown out his own thoughts. His mind would be racing exploring all possible responses, and fearing her ultimate decision. Hope this helps, good luck.
