There are some illegal immigrants out there that have been in this country since they were small. All they know is the "American Culture" and sending them back to Mexico, or wherever they came from would be torture since they have never lived there.
Some of these people would give their lives for this country because they have been here all their lives.
*Note* If kids of illegal immigrants are here illegally, its not their fault. And sending them back to their country after I dont know say 18years of being here, it takes them 10years to try and get a green card.
Would you think those type of illegals going and trying to join the military would be a good idea for them to get citizenship?

What part of illegal does the citizens of America not understand, our prisons are full of people who broke our laws. Why in the world would anybody rationalize giving somebody a Government job to a law breaker, put them in prison with the rest of the law breakers or send them back to where they belong. We are or were a nation of laws. Almost all Americans are legal immigrants excluding the American Indian, If our forefathers had to get passports and Visas to come to America why shouldn't anybody else.

Look there are over 12 + million of illegal aliens living and working in the USA and just because 1235 of them are serving the US Service that doesn't mean that they all are patriotic and we should hug them and kiss them and say thanks you all. Bull sh-t ! The ones that I'm talking about are the ones not serving, NOW.... the ones that are serving if they served Honorable then and only then we could talk about their citizenship, not before. To serve in our military is a privilege and Honor. I shall know I served proudly in Vietnam.

I think it should be the only way that illegals should be allowed to obtain legal residency. They should serve in the military for at least 4 years with a clean record in order to be eligible.
