No one can "prove" any thing concerning God to you... the proof you require can only come from God. And if He wants you to know he will let you know... But... I can tell you that God is not three people... there is only one God... god cooses to interact with mankind in two basic forms: The Son, and The Holy Spirit. But, both are God... God is The Father of all his creation... so... there is The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit... that is all there is to The Trinity... no other magical meaning. here is a link to my pov on the subject if you are interested... http://user1292138.sites.myregisteredsite.com/mikesinternetoutreach/id36.html
God may take as many different forms as he chooses... so... infact... God is more than a trinity... He is an infinity

We are made in God's image. For instance, I am a daughter, a sister, a aunt, a cousin, a friend, (not yet a mother but I'm hoping someday). In any case, I'm all those things and can operate in that capacity yet I am one person. Now, God is The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The difference is He can be separate and one all at once. He has all power and is able to do all things if he could not be the only One God there is and three representations of Himself He would not posses the power to save the world, only condemn it.

You can have 3 separate but still part of the 1 same being. Matter of fact, this type of idea has been depicted in 2 major modern tv/films.....
The Borg in Star Trek
Agents in The Matrix trilogy of films
Those were all separate entities, but shared the same mind or reality basically. That's probably the best way to understand how God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit can be 3 separate entities, yet all be one.

Good question Jack. I have bibical proof that shows they are not part of a trinity. Jesus knew that he was not equal to his Father. That is why, time and again, Jesus made statements such as the following: “The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he beholds the Father doing.” (John 5:19) “I have come down from heaven to do, not my will, but the will of him that sent me.” (John 6:38) “What I teach is not mine, but belongs to him that sent me.” (John 7:16) “The Father is greater than I am.” (John 14:28) “I know him [God], because I am a representative from him, and that One sent me forth.” (John 7:29) The one who does the sending cannot be the same person. It is only logical. As Jesus expressed it: “A slave is not greater than his master, nor is one that is sent forth greater than the one that sent him.”—John 13:16.
1 Corinthians 11:3: talks about headship. It says the head of woman is the man, the head of man is the Christ, the head of Christ is God. This scripture also helps us to see that they are not one and the same but separate entities Father and son.
Jesus also mentioned God’s superiority when the mother of two of the disciples asked that her sons sit one at the right and the other at the left of Jesus when he came into his Kingdom. He answered: “This sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give.” (Matthew 20:23) If Jesus had been almighty God, it would have been his to give. But it was not. It was his Father’s to give.
The scriptures also says that no one can see God and live but Jesus walked among people on this earth.
Here is something else that you should also keep in mind. When Jesus died, he was in the tomb for three days. If he were God, then Habakkuk 1:12 is wrong when it says: “O my God, my Holy One, you do not die.” But the Bible says that Jesus did die and was unconscious in the tomb. And who resurrected Jesus from the dead? If he was truly dead, he could not have resurrected himself.
When Jesus gave his prophecy about the end of this world or system he stated: “But of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” (Mark 13:32, RS, Catholic edition) Had Jesus been the equal Son part of a Godhead, he would have known what the Father knows. But Jesus did not know, for he was not equal to God.
There are many more scriptures to prove that Jesus is indeed God’s son but space would not permit it. In view of these facts the Trinity doctrine cannot be true. Do you know what the scriptures say about the truth, it will set you free. Free from false doctrine and lies among other things.
The most people can say of the Trinity is that it is a mystery. However, the Bible gives us many details about God as a Person, about his qualities and about how he deals with mankind. He desires all humans to know him according to John 17:3.

I can't answer this here because I would have to type A LOT of references and resources to you. Please feel free to email me and I can tell you what the Catholic church teaches.
In short, God is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus refers to His Father often but never calls His Father His God. God is Jesus' Father thru the humanity of Jesus, not through the divinity of Jesus.
St. Paul called Jesus "My Lord, my God". Jesus accepts these 'titles' because Jesus is Lord and God. Jesus doesn't tell him any different.
The Father told the Israelites for generations that He would be sending the Son, the Son tells His disciples that He will be sending them the Holy Spirit. These 3 Divine Persons are God and each has Their own purpose (like we say we have a purpose). God the Father's purpose is to create and reign over His creation. God the Son's purpose is to teach us, redeem our sins in order to save our souls (if we have faith and follow the Father's rules). God the Holy Spirit's purpose is to guide the church and His believers without error (enters our souls when we are baptized).
This is a start to explaining the Trinity to you. Feel free to email me if you would like to talk more about it. Peace!

I put it this way, take Lake Michigan. If someone takes a cup and removes some of the water from lake Michigan, would that cup of water still be called Lake Michigan? No, we would say the water came from Lake Michigan or is a part of Lake Michigan that is know being used for a separate reason. And if we put that same water back in the Lake then it would not change the name of the Lake.

Why would Jesus pray to "Himself" in the Garden of Gethsemane and why would the Holy Spirit descend upon itself as it is explained in the Bible?

John 8:17, 18, RS: “[Jesus answered the Jewish Pharisees:] In your law it is written that the testimony of two men is true; I bear witness to myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness to me.” (So, Jesus definitely spoke of himself as being an individual separate and distinct from the Father.)
Matt. 26:39, RS: “Going a little farther he [Jesus Christ] fell on his face and prayed, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.’” (If the Father and the Son were not distinct individuals, such a prayer would have been meaningless. Jesus would have been praying to himself, and his will would of necessity have been the Father’s will.)

you do greatly err. God JEHOVA isn't a person,JESUS is the person. JEHOVA the creator, THE HOLY SPIRIT is our comforter.Your spirit is seperate from you, yet it is you, how can you be two at once your mind and body are seperate how can you be three? how can you willingly go to sleep yet your mind continues your body continues.Do you believe in life after death if so how can you be both alive and dead .Do you believe God is within you as it is written the flesh returns to dust from whence it came the spirit returns to God from whence it came if we beign mortal consist of more than one property mind, soul and body how then can we restrict our creator.if our mind and soul maybe seperated from our spirit in the moment of our death, who could possibly seperateGOD from his mind body or spirit GOD said and it was so.and HIS name shall be called EMMANUEL {GOD with us} and then again I shall send the HOLY SPIRIT to bring all things unto thy remembrance.

The Goddess Morrigan (from the celtic pantheon) is also seen as a triple goddess.
I dont understand the trinities from any religion really.
