well it would depend on how tall she is. if she's around 5'3'' and under then she might be getting to fat...but you should encourage her to eat right and stop eating late at night (after 8pm)

You don't mention her height and her body build.

I was 5'10" at age 12 and weighed around 135 pounds and was tall and skinny. I have a medium frame meaning my bone structure was average, not thin, not stockier.

The last thing your daughter needs as she enters puberty is a body image problem. The teen years are when girls develop eating disorders and you do not want that to happen.

First of all, other kids are brutal. If anyone is slightly different, they will use that against them. Have open dialogue with your daughter about healthy eating and exercise habits. It's not too soon to discuss how dangerous eating disorders are and also discuss peer pressure and antagonism between girls.

Unless she's below average height, I don't think her weight is too much. But if she is shorter, encourage healthy eating, make healthy meals with a variety of fresh ingredients, provide healthy snacks and be active with your daughter. Best wishes!

depends on how tall your daughter is. and genetically, is your family "big boned"? if so, your daughter could be just fine for her genetics and height.
i'm 18, 5'2" and 105lbs. but my family is small. and im adopted.
my cousin (from my adopted family) is 10 and about 4'11" or 5' and hes about 115lbs.
it just depends on your genetic background, her height, and her health. does she exercise? is she muscular? or does she eat cheeto-s all day and play x-box?
if youre worried about her health, why dont you enroll her in a childrens YMCA? or make it a date that mother and daughter go to a park and walk once a week, then do scretches at home? bike or play a sport. do something to keep her active, and that will keep her weight down. if she is into sports, she will have more muscles. and remember, muscles *does* weigh more than fat.
good luck.

She's a bit heavy for that age but how tall is she? The thing with kids that age though is that she hasn't reached her maximum height yet and that's when they usually grow into themselves. Some kids grow first & look to skinny for a bit and other kids put on weight first and then sprout. I would get some guidance from your doctor about whether she is actually too heavy & then you can guide her with a more healthy diet....less fatty fried foods & snacks.

Don't worry so much. I can't remember exactly what I weighed, but it was over 100 lbs. She's young, you should encourage her to make healthy food and exercise choices now. The fact that she would be making healthier lifestyle decisions will make her feel better about herself. I only started watching what I ate when I was in my 20's, but also, my weight dropped alot when I got to college. With a good diet and a little exercise, her body will regulate itself and she will start to feel better about her self image.

It all depends on height,

5' and a half and up is ok

5' 5" she might need to work out somemore or eat healthier or take a walk once a day 4 times a week

It depends how tall she is but even that is not a good judge as she is 11 and has lots of growing and maturing to do. You best bet would be to ask her doc when you take her for her yearly physical this year.

Sometimes preteens pack on a few pounds before they get ready for a growth spurt I would check with your pediatrician.

No she is not fat, but she is tall for her age, so she is not going to weigh the same as the other girls who are shorter.
