Frankly, I am wondering why in the world you would want to date someone so much older than you.
Believe me, he treats you like a child because he secretly thinks of you as much more immature than himself. He likes you because you are cute, have a good body, the sex is exciting, and he feels like the ""big man" when he is in public with you. And this is pathetic. You need someone with a better opinion of themselves .
I have dated many men who have freely shared with me that they tried dating younger women but that they were unable to relate to the history or experiences the older men had been through.
If you are willing to have a "daddy" for a boyfriend, go for it. But he will never treat you as a real equal.
I know he probably takes you lots of exciting places and spend money on you, but give it up and find someone your own age or just a few years older. He is old enough to be your father! That's why he treats you like a child.

Evaluate your relationship with this guy. Why are you with him? If you are together for the right reasons, there's no reason why he should treat you like a child. You should be treating each other as equals. Try talking to him about it and let him know how you feel when he does it - maybe he doesn't realize it. If he continues to do it, I would think about moving on - after all, nobody wants to be treated like their boyfriends a father figure.

Talk it through and say that you want to give him some time, but after that, he either should have learned not to treat you like that or you leave. Date somebody your own age, no matter how cute the 20+ years older then you person is.

Tell him that unless he stops treating you like a child you will begin seeing someone who will treat you like a real person.
This assumes that you are acting your age. And consider that 20 years is a HUGE gap, even if you are acting your age, it may be hard for him to handle. Either way, you signed on for this when you began seeing him.
I say move on.

Get a guy that is closer to your age and he will respect you more, because he won't think just because he is older he is better. Plus people closer to your age will understand something your age is going through and not think it is childish.
My advice is that he doesn't respect you and won't understand, so why stay with him? He thinks your childish, well do the MATURE thing and break up with him. Its for the best, really it is.

My mom is 19 years older than I am... don't you feel a little uncomfortable with a man so old? I suggest getting someone within 5 years of your age.

Break up, because he's got a pretty strong reason to treat you like that: he's 20 years older.

This is why I believe in dating someone of the same maturity level and as close as possible to your own age as is possible.
With a 20 year gap, that's bound to happen. One person is always going to want different things due to their age.

I'm sure that at times you seem like a child to him becaue he is old enough to be your father. But it can work out, I'm 20 years older than my wife and we are very happy. When she calls me "daddy" she ain't kidding around. lol

Enjoy it. It's the last time you are being treated as a child. Then it will be all adult and responsibilities.
