I've tried the ctrl/prntscr as I've done with images, but the copied image disappears after I close the movie viewer.

duhhh, pause the video and hit ur print screen button. Then open up paint or any other graphics editor and paste it. File --> Save As, and make it a jpg

Playing the movie and pressing Prtscr, go to Imaging or Paint in Accessories and select Edit -> Paste.
Should work.

Sure, adobe after effects is what I use,
but any program where you can get the frames of a movie
will do the trick, even a GIF Animator program should work.
