I avoid scary movies, because the horrifying imiages stick with me for days after watching it. But when you get the image in your head just try and replace it with another idea. its hard but eventually you just forget about it.

First, the more you try not to think of something, the more you will think about it.
Therefore, try this. Think about the images actively and rationally. Explain to yourself why the imagines are irrational.
Second, if you find yourself starting to think about the movie, immediately stop yourself by replacing those thoughts with equally powerful positive thoughts. Images of loved ones (parents, spouse, girl friend, children, pets etc.) Try reading a book with positive images. If despite these efforts you continue to have uncontrolled night mares or disturbing thoughts you may need professional help. Contact you personal physician or local health department.

try to think about funny things and how scary movies are all fake and made up you should watch the making of scary movies so you can see how thay do it all belive me you will tell your self that you had nothing to be afraid of.

hey it's fake even if it isn't it probley happened a long time ago so try to remember that and try not to watch anymore scary movies until you think you can handle it hope this solves your problem good luck
