I am trying to lose about 10 lbs, I have been eating 1000 calories a day and I want to incorporate pilates as my daily excercise.

ECK! You need at least 1200 calories per day to prevent starvation mode.

Pilates is great to tone your muscles, but it's not really a cardiovascular activity. Try to find an activity that gets your heart rate up to your target zone to burn fat. Try cardio (running, swimming, tennis, etc) in addition to pilates, and the two in combination will give you great results.

It helped me look like I lost weight! I didn't actually lose, but I toned up and love doing Pilates. Go slow and do what you can. Before you know it, you'll be keeping up with the advanced folks.

yes it will work for you it actually helps burn more and tone faster you should add it to your daily activity
