In his time, all kings were judges. Including him.

Judges of that time was just another name for a leader of God's people. But, the Israelites wanted a king like all the pagans and that is when God gave them Saul, then David, Solomon and so on. So, that makes King Solomon a judge/leader as well.

Yes but not in the sense we have 'judges' today. In King Solomon's day the kings were also called upon to settle disputes; thus, acting as our judges do today.

The famous dispute that King Solomon settled was of the baby with two moms. Two women claimed a child was theirs. So, King Solomon in his infinite wisdom proclaimed that the child would be cut into two separate pieces and a piece given to both women. This, of course, was absurd but he was after something more than meets the eye. Knowing that a real mother would never allow this...
One of the women stepped up to spare the child's life and said, "No. I am not the mother. She can take the child."
Which showed King Solomon who the real mother was.

Hope this helps!

Nope. The Judges are all in the BOOK OF JUDGES!

Samson was the last. The Iraelites decided they wanted a king like all other nations. Saul was first, David second, Solomon third.

In ancient Israel, the King acted in the place of the judge. Read some of the histories of the kings of Israel (the Kings, the Chronicles) and you'll see some examples of his judgments. One of the most famous being deciding which of two mothers an infant belonged to by suggesting the baby be cut in half and divided among the women. The real mother gave up her claim to the baby in order to spare his life.

No, he was a King. The political situation had changed and the people had accepted a monarch(read dictator). The Judges represent a more democratic system when a council of judges(read high priests of tribes) made the laws and the decisions.
