I worked at a major credit card call center in collections. It was not always easy money - altho it was OK money - and the ppl (customers/clients) were the ones who got into the pickle, I didn't put them there! My job was simply to offer plans and options which allowed them to honor their voluntary obligations. I never thought for a second that I sold my soul! I might have felt that way if I was selling plastic siding to a person who could barely buy his needed medications of feed himself.

When I first moved to FL, I worked at a couple telemarketing places and hated it. It is the easiest way to make money down here, for a reason, all you do is lie to people all day and the managers tell you how to lie and tell the people on the phone what they want to hear and flat out lie. I hated it, I would always cry before going in and cry on my way home. It really ways on you if you have a conscience about lying to people. I could never do that job again

I am working for a call center, I'm actually there right now. This is one of the most stressful jobs on earth, but I can't argue with the pay.

My sister works for a collection agency and has to call people all the time and try to get them to pay their bills. Shes one of the most thoughtful, considerate, and nice people in the world. And you wouldnt believe how rude some of those people can be when shes just doing her job. And shes trying to do them a favor and help them get out of debt and most of them tell her to f*** off. People are mean.

You can never sell your soul, only pour it out, so any job that you sell your soul to, you own. Have fun Mr. King, but remember to be a nice god.

Nope, I have worked in several call centers (I'm an organizational development consultant).
It's very stressful work but the people who work in them are amazing in my book.

I disagree with that. You can't sell your soul to the devil.
