Last Thursday (6 days ago) I got my 6th tattoo (I'm working on a sleeve), no big deal right?

Well Monday I wake up to yellowish greenish scabs forming... out of all my tattoos it was the most painful, not because of the spot on my body but because it's a realism sketch and he was using a gun with 11 needles that just tore my arm up and I know it the moment I left it probably it was going to be sore for a while! It is my first black tattoo all my other tattoos up to this point have been in full color and they always scabbed the same color as the ink, if they even scabbed at all (some didn't).

I got this tattoo from the same artist as my other tattoos and it only seems to be scabbing it the darkest parts of the black... it is getting better but I'm worried how it is going to turn out after it is done healing.

Normal? Or should I worry?

IT IS NOT INFECTED. ignore the non professionals who know no better.

Its just a scab, they happen. the number of needles doesnt relate to tearing your skin up more, just going over it a few too many tiems does. Be careful not to overmoisturise it, and dont pick at the scab. IF its very thick you will probably need to get a touch up. Dont use any petroleum based products. stick to an unscented white lotion or a little light cocoa butter.

If in any doubt, since we cannot see it here, go back to your artist and let them take a look. IF he has worked on your for so long without any problems he will know if there are any now.

Do not, I repeat, do not ever use tattoo goo. Wash three times a day with an antibacterial soap (don't over do the soap, and don't do it in a way that is rough on the skin). First two days, use a small amount of Aquaphor, after you clean it. After first 2 days, use Curel Fragrance Free Lotion (don't overdo it), and continue to keep it clean. The trick to a tattoo is to: not let it dry out and keep it clean (but don't overdo it), always pat dry, and never pick it (I know it's hard). This is all I have done to care for my many tattoos, and I have never had any problems. Accept the one time, I used tattoo goo. As for the scabs, consult the tattoo artist. Good luck.

My husband has a lot of black work, his scabs always had a green tinge when healing. Unless it is accompanied by lots of redness or oozing I'd just keep putting lots of cream on it

sounds like it might be infected. do you have any oozing from it? my last tattoo got infected due to an allergic reaction to the new tattoo goo ointment, i put some bacitracin on it and it was good within about 2 days.

hope it feels better soon

Mines did the same thing. Just keep to care suggestions given to you by artist.

If it's oozing a color other then that used, I would say it' s infected and you need to have it looked at.
