It must be really bizarre. I was watching the Oscars the other night and Jennifer Hudson won for best supporting actress. She thanked god over and over. How can she not realize that SHE was responsible for her performance, and she deserves all the credit? It was weird.

I don't constantly think about whether I have sinned or not or whether or not I confessed it to God. What I am reminded of with a life with God is that I am loved no matter what I do. Romans 8:38-39 says that nothing can seperate me from the love of God. That brings me so much peace and that peace gets me through the day. It is comforting to know that my prayers are answered when I call upon God. Jeremiah says that when I call upon God, he will answer me. I believe that because I have felt the evidence of God's peace in my prayers and I have had my prayers answered many times. You may not wish my life upon anyone, but perhaps, it is because you do not fully understand it. Yes, to anyone that doesn't understand God, it may seem like a burden and I can understand why you think like that being that you think everyone walks around thinking about the things that you stated. If I really did that, then yes, I would be in a mental prison.

Believing in a personal God, if it is the right one, is the best decision you can ever make. I have believed in God all my life, and have never regretted it. But what you described, constantly wondering if you're in heaven or hell is not a part of this. I know that I am going to heaven when I die, regardless of what decisions I make from here on out. I chose to believe that Christ died on a cross for my sins, I admitted I was a sinner, asked him to forgive me for my sins, and asked him to come live in my heart and rule my life. Since I made that decision, my life has been filled with God's joy. It's not a temporary happiness that goes away--it's a deep joy that sticks with you, even when life isn't going good. Yes, I ask for forgiveness a lot. But not because I want to make sure I'm not going to hell. SIn destroys our relationship with God. He can't tolerate it, so when you sin, it puts up a wall between you and God that can only be torn down once you ask him for forgiveness. You want to be close to God, because without him, life is meaningless. You might have a "good life" with tons of pleasure, but you won't feel satisfied. You'll always have this unsatiable hunger for more. Please consider this seriously. God Bless!

I think that what one needs to do is discover that there is something greater than humanity, a Divinity, if you will. You can call him Yahova, Jesus, Allah, Ahura-Mazda, whatever. If you can wrap your mind around that, then the next step becomes a bit easier.
On must realize that if there is a Divinity, He/She/It is greater than us, and has the power to create us, was, is, and always will be. Do not question this. Do not try to comprehend it, or find the logic. Just accept it, like you accept gravity, or that the sun rises in the east, or that your taxes must be paid by April 15th, and not the 16th.
Now, if the Divinity can do all of this, create this universe in all of its varience, obviously it isa power greater than us, and we will never be able to totally comprehend it. It is impossible. It is asking a Dog to comprehend life as a clam, a sheep, or even a person. It is just not possible.
All we can do as Children of Divinity is try to connect with Divinity. This is a challenge as well, because there are so many people preaching about what Divinity is. Though Divinity has spoken to many mortals, Many mortals misunderstand the message of Divinity.
To have a personal God means to accept that there is one, and listen. I cannot tell you what He/She/It says to you, or to others. That is between God and you.
I have a personal God, and I spend everyday trying to understand him. That is the sole purpose of life.

It's a constant search. It is having to constantly admit that you're wrong. As soon as you think you have an answer to one of the hard questions, the question changes. It's not easy. You have to give up control of your will to the One who created it, so knows how it works better anyway. Jesus was serious when He said that those who would follow Him would have to deny themselves, take up their cross and follow Him. That's unpleasant. But you have a mind older than all wisdom living inside of you, comforting, correcting, speaking, rejoicing and leading you. You have the assurance that the one who died on a cross for your sins didn't just do it so you can go to heaven, but did it so you could be free from sin, could have joy and peace and love and community with others. Sin is a much more sinister tyrant (talk about bondage!) than Jesus. It's not easy, in fact it's the hardest thing I've ever done, but I know His voice and try to obey. It's a daily relationship that requires my full self. Not for the faint of heart who just "want to go to heaven when they die"

It is wonderful freedom and joy in being content.
I never wonder if I am going to Heaven or Hell. I know I'm going to Heaven.
I sin every day; I don't have to wonder about that.
I am forgiven because I have asked forgiveness--no doubts about that one either.
He is always watching (thank God). I am protected from Satan because God ALWAYS sees me.
Pray without ceasing.
We are all selfish.
You must try your best to refrain from all sin, and if you mess up, ask for God to forgive you.
You don't lose your salvation by sinning. Once saved, always saved. That takes all of that doubt away.
It is only a circus to those who make it into one.
I don't feel like I am in jail. I feel saved from Hell. (hey that rhymes)
I am very open-minded, but more importantly open-hearted; otherwise, I would have never believed that Jesus could exist.

It's whatever you make it! For me it's wonderful. I can't imagine living a life where there is no God. It would be hell on earth! A purposeless existence, where you are no more valuable than a blade of grass. Should I go out and party? Should I help some old lady across the street? Or should I shoot myself? They're all random actions in a random meaningless universe, that's here for who knows why.

Indeed what you are saying sounds like bondage and if that's the belief system people subscribe to then they are in a kind of hell on earth.
Speaking as a Christian everyone's experience is a little different because of personalities, circumstances and life experiences - even what denomination and or church we are affiliated with.
When you accept the fact that you are loved and forgiven and accepted by God it brings freedom, joy and peace. It means that you don't have to pretend about who you are; you don't have to be in angst about whether or not people like you; because you have experienced forgiveness now you are free to forgive others instead of holding on to grudges, trying to seek revenge or cultivate hate in your heart.
You know that God's character is loving, just and good and that God loves all creation; that God has called you to love God and to love your neighbor - whereever he/she is; no matter what they look like etc. And by the grace of God that is what you strive to do.
God loves you as a parent and just as you would strive to please your earthly parents, you live in such a way to please God.
In all of this you are not on your own because God gives you the Holy Spirit to help you do the right thing; to comfort you when you are sorrowful; to give you counsel when you need etc.
As you grow in your relationship with God, you do wrong things yes, but you confess and know that God forgives you. Not only that you want to live to please God more and more and do wrong things less and less.
It is not boring. It is not bondage. It is a life of freedom. It is a life of joy. It is life lived knowing that God is on this life's journey with you and even the awful things that happen to you as it sometimes does, that God has a plan and a purpose for your life and will use all these things for your good.
My answer is a little long but I hope it helps and I thank you for your honest and respectful questions.
Continue in your search and remember it is God who searches for us. The Scripture reminds us that, "God's love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins," (I John 4: 9 - 10).

Wow , that sounds terrible to me too, and I have been a Christian for years. First, I don't worry about hell, because I trust and believe in God and know that He loves me and He promised to give me eternal life. Jesus died for my sins, so I don't worry about sinning. Of course sin does not have the same appeal to me as it did before I knew Christ. I am sensitive to what is offensive to God and just by nature prefer not to partake of the lifestyle, it is not a loss to me. I have many friends that are like minded and we have great times together. I love God and pleasing Him in turns bring Blessings into my life.

It is AWESOME! I really don't know how people can live without knowing the Lord. I mean, I wake up every morning with a song in my heart and thanksgiving on my lips. Just to know that this Huge God that's created everything by Word only, cares for me? it just floors me!
I've had some really tough times in my life, but just knowing that the Lord is with me gives me strength to get through it! The Bible says He will not put anymore on us than we can bear!
So I don't know if you just asked this question just because, or if you're searching for answers because you really are wondering... but I know where I stand with the Lord! do you?

the way you describe it i would be just like you,i certainly wouldnt want that for anyone,i do think you have the wrong idea of what living for God is,in living for God the things you mentioned (haha) we do not worry about them things because God takes away all the worry,or wanting to sin, instead He fills it with contentment, joy peace and understanding-there is no void in our lives they are complete in every sense of the word at one time i thought the same as you but i was very wrong took me awhile though
